Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

Yemen University Journal is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. The editorial board, authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to adhere to the following principles, in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

1. Duties of Authors

– Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original and have not been published elsewhere.
– All sources used must be properly cited.
– Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflict of interest.
– Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited.
– In the case of co-authorship, all listed authors must have contributed significantly to the research.

2. Duties of Editors

– The editors are responsible for ensuring a fair double-blind peer review process.
– Editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit and relevance to the journal’s scope.
– Editors must maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
– Editors must act if they suspect misconduct, including plagiarism or data manipulation.

3. Duties of Reviewers

– Reviewers must provide objective and constructive feedback in a timely manner.
– Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript.
– Reviewers must declare any conflicts of interest and decline the review if such conflicts exist.

4. Publication Decisions

– The final decision to publish a manuscript is made by the editor-in-chief, based on the recommendations of peer reviewers and the academic quality of the paper.

5. Plagiarism Policy

– All manuscripts are checked using plagiarism detection software.
– Manuscripts with significant plagiarism will be rejected.
– Minor overlaps may be corrected with proper citation.

6. Retraction and Correction Policy

– Articles may be retracted for ethical violations, fabrication, or plagiarism.
– Corrections may be issued for honest errors.
