Yemen University Journal follows a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality and integrity of all published manuscripts. All submissions are evaluated on the basis of academic merit, originality, relevance, and clarity.
The following outlines our peer review policy:
1. Review Process
– All submitted manuscripts are initially screened by the editorial board for relevance and compliance with the journal’s scope and formatting guidelines.
– Suitable manuscripts are sent to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the field.
– Both the authors and reviewers remain anonymous (double-blind review).
2. Responsibilities of Reviewers
– Provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations.
– Maintain confidentiality of manuscript content.
– Report any conflict of interest or ethical concerns (e.g., plagiarism).
– Refrain from using any part of the manuscript for personal gain.
3. Review Timeline
– The typical review period is 2–4 weeks.
– Reviewers are expected to submit their evaluations within the agreed timeframe.
– Extensions may be granted upon request.
4. Editorial Decision
– Based on reviewer comments, the editorial board makes one of the following decisions: Accept, Minor Revisions, Major Revisions, or Reject.
– Revised manuscripts may be re-evaluated by the original or additional reviewers.
– Final decisions are communicated to the corresponding author along with anonymized reviewer feedback.
5. Appeals
– Authors may appeal editorial decisions by submitting a written justification.
– Appeals are reviewed by the editor-in-chief and may involve consultation with additional experts.
